Let the gamesman’s advantage over an opponent appear to be the result of luck, never of play. Unless the opponent sees through the gambit, he is likely to feel an ebbing of confidence if he can be made to believe that it is not your play ( which he knows is liable to collapse) but Fate, which is against him.
